New kids on the block
Mizzou opens Women's and Children's Hospital
Mizzou kids are on the move! Children’s Hospital services — and tiger mascot T.J. — are relocating from University Hospital on the main MU campus to the freshly renovated former Columbia Regional Medical Center near the junction of I-70 and Highway 63. The new hospital, University of Missouri Women’s and Children’s Hospital, consolidates pediatric, adolescent and women’s health services in a building decked out with kid-friendly play rooms and game rooms as well as state-of-the-art medical facilities. It’s the first women’s and children’s hospital in Missouri and one of only 50 free-standing children’s hospitals in the United States.
Check out the new digs! The hospital holds a public open house 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 12, at 404 Keene St.
