ESPN sports analyst Lee Corso dons a Truman mascot head before a Missouri-Oklahoma game in 2007, predicting a win for Mizzou. ESPN will broadcast College GameDay from Mizzou during Homecoming this weekend.

It’s the Tigers’ turn in the national spotlight this weekend. ESPN's College GameDay crew is coming to Columbia! ESPN will shoot SportsCenter segments Friday on Francis Quadrangle and will broadcast live Saturday morning. To top it all off, this weekend marks the 99th anniversary of Homecoming. Wear your Mizzou gold all weekend, and check out these events!

Thursday, Oct. 21

  • ESPN constructs a stage on Francis Quadrangle near the Eighth Street circle drive. The backdrop will be the scenic Quad, the Columns and Jesse Hall.
  • Homecoming Talent Competition Finals, 6 p.m., Jesse Auditorium.

Friday, Oct. 22

  • ESPN shoots at the Quad 9:20 a.m.-11:45 a.m for SportsCenter
  • Tour of campus decorations, 6-10 p.m., Greek Town. See your favorite board games come to life.
  • Spirit Rally, 7:30 p.m., corner of Burnam and Richmond (in Greek Town). Features Mini Mizzou, the MU Spirit Squads and Homecoming grand marshal Russ Mitchell of CBS News.

Saturday, Oct. 23

  • ESPN College GameDay live broadcast, 8-11 a.m., Francis Quadrangle. Wear gold! Students are expected to arrive as early as 3:30 a.m., and Student Life will organize activities. Mizzou could break the GameDay attendance record of 15,808 set by Nebraska; Francis Quadrangle's capacity is 24,000. The broadcast will begin at 8 a.m. on ESPNU and then transition to ESPN at 9 a.m.
  • Homecoming Parade, noon, campus and downtown Columbia. An estimated 25,000-30,000 people show up to celebrate Homecoming, and the 99th anniversary's "Tradition Set in Stone" could be the biggest yet. Mizzou founded Homecoming and strives for the biggest and best celebration.
  • Men's basketball practice, 2:30 p.m., Mizzou Arena. Looking for something to do in the afternoon? Check out coach Mike Anderson's top-10 squad for free. (Use the north entrance.)
  • Tiger Walk, 4:45 p.m., pedestrian bridge over Providence Road to Memorial Stadium. As the Tigers make their way to the locker room, cheer them on with the Spirit Squad and band.
  • Mizzou vs. Oklahoma, 7 p.m., Memorial Stadium. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Keep the roar going as the Tigers tackle the Sooners on ABC's national broadcast. The record attendance for a game was 75,298. Can it be topped? M-I-Z!

We will continue to update our GameDay and Homecoming scheduling details as they're set, so be sure to check back! Go Tigers!
